Our Little One

Well, I know I have shown you this close up before but I couldn't find a better photo for today's post.  As they say picture tell 1000 words....right?

It is Mother's Day today and since I was a 'little one' my Mother's pockets have always been full of love, advice, spare coins and maybe a tissue or two.

But, there is more to this story...

Dsc_2215

For a little over 4 months we have cherished a secret close to our hearts...
As my little bump starts to grow and  October draws a little closer it won't be too far away till we are holding our own little one and pushing around one of these -

Dsc_1147

Now, before you start to wonder we are not expecting quads or triplets like you see above...however - we did ask two or three times, just to make sure.

Dsc_2217

So as I sit on the couch tonight, I wonder...how many quilts can one little baby have?
But in my heart I already know the answer - one can never have too many quilts when they are stitched with love.

To my Mum, my best friend - Happy Mother's Day XXX

Mother's Pockets

Are you searching for a new project to start in time for Mother's Day (this year or next)?  Homespun Vol.9 No.4 'Girl's Club' has just hit the stands with a new Cinderberry project.

I had so much fun taking these close up photos I went a little over board so, with that in mind this post is choc-a-block full of images but I don't think you will mind seeing what I see....after all, it's easier to show you them all rather than choose one over another.

If you are lucky to pick yourself up a copy of Homespun you can get started on this project straight away, but rest assured it will be released as part of the Cinderberry Stitches range shortly if you miss out.

Inside the issue you will also find other great projects from Tilda, One Red Robin, Amanda Brooke, Janelle Wind just to name a few.  So now I am off to put my feet up with a cup of tea as I devour the pages.

ahhhhh...bliss

A Treat for the eyes

And now for a little more from the Tea Party weekend at Candleberry Country - a treat for the eyes.  Who would think a collection of binding could look so good all packaged up in an old suitcase and with so many different uses it is only right that one should collect a little of each.

along with some gorgeous jelly roll packs and charm squares

A Stitcher's Treasure

This weekend at Candleberry Country was wonderful - and what a tea party!! I spent the weekend with Rosalie Quinlan, Viv Robertson, Jennifer Knol and almost 200 ladies who stitched, laughed and chatted throughout the weekend.  If you have never been to a sewing retreat you simply must add it to your to do list.

So here is a little of my weekend to share with you....have you got the kettle on?

Dsc_2143

please share a cup cake or 3.....

Dsc_2127

and for those who prefer their cake to last a little longer, how about one of these?

Dsc_2162

Are you wondering what my new designs are?

I have quite a few photos to share over the next week the new designs have not hit the stores yet but I have organised a photo shoot for this weekend to snap the images for the pattern covers so the release date is not far away...and I can feel a competition coming (yeh!!)

Introducing 'A Stitcher's Treasure" a sewing case to carry your embroidery threads, pattern, fabric markers, mini cutting mat, ruler and cutter - perfect for sewing days or a weekend away....

Dsc_2108

just one strand of thread makes for some oh so delicate stitching -

New adventures!

I am just about ready to leave for the weekend retreat at Candleberry Country.  The finishing touches have been made to the four new projects and they are packed away and ready for their journey, of course there are some little surprises you will have to wait for but they will be worth it.

Tea Party for Madeline is finished and she looks gorgeous, here is a little more of peek at the finished project which will keep you wondering until I come home in a few days...

Teapot borders - perfect for a garden tea party...

Dsc_2093

Do you remember a few weeks ago I mention a lil' road trip to Ballarat to visit Gail's Patchwork Emporium and collect some more fabric?  Well, I forgot to take my camera but Helsey has saved the day again by taking these snaps on her phone....this store is packed in every direction with inspiration so who could not resist??

Photo0009

Photo0011

Now I have the camera packed for my trip and I know I will have many stories to share from our weekend adventure on my return (this is what we got up to last time), including new patterns to release - including Fresh Breeze! and some more secrets to share...

Creative Abundance

The last 10 days or so have been a little crazy...actually maybe even the last 6 months have been a little mad around here, so much so it's nice to sit back and just chill for a few moments.

For those of you left wondering, I have recovered from the balancing act Madeline performed the other day and I am now madly writing patterns.

Dsc_1970_2

I am most excited that my designs are now being distributed by Creative Abundance which will allow me to concentrate on the design and creative side of Cinderberry Stitches - I can't wait to get some of the designs from sketchbook to fabric that have only been dreams until now and to start the next part of our journey.

Till then
Natalie

Madeline

My goodness....Madeline is insisting on practicing her balancing act while getting the tea party ready, she says it helps her posture, though it's not doing much for my nerves - it's my best china!

But I thought I would show you some pics as we are getting ready, you see Madeline has finally put her clothes on and looks very much the lady

Dsc_2064

Dsc_2066

Just a little more stitching to do and she will be ready for her party.
Enjoy your Easter break, I am looking forward to 4 days of stitching as these projects come to life & I am sure there will be more photo shoots to share shortly.

Till then
