I've been binding, more than one quilt this week but....
I think there can only be one thing worse than binding, that would be removing the said binding once you have spent a hours hand stitching it down. I learned this week it was called reverse stitching, I like that term - makes it sound more like part of the making process. Even if you are un-making.
So here is the yellow peril after reverse sewing and now I will always remember to attached the walking foot, how can such a little thing - make such a difference.
Three hours to hand stitch in place & fifteen minutes to remove *sigh*
Now I am happy...really happy.
So not everything I make works the first time, or the second actually but if it makes you happy in the end it is worth every moment, even the reverse sewing ones. They are part of the process.
Chat soon,

Like you I like the phrase reverse stitching too is sounds so much better than unpicking.....
Do you use your walking foot for binding? I have never heard of that before.....

I just discovered my 8 year old has a thing for the stitch ripper, after a few minutes of top-stitching needed to come out. I love her!

I call "reverse stitching" the "frog stitch", because you "rip-it, rip-it"! :^)

"Reverse stitching", I like that! I think we all do our share of reverse stitching if we want to be truly happy with the finished product.
