Red Fox in a dreamland

I have been stitching away a little more on the Red Fox design so it's time to share a little more of the progress with you.

In this is a little of the dream land, red fox is dreaming about porcupines, leaves in the forrest & little red caps.....

And sometimes it's nice to know that while you are sleeping in the moon light someone is keeping an eye out for you.  Good friends do that kind of thing.

Red Fox Stitching

Now for some foxy eye candy...

I am working on new designs and loving the process of pencil to needle & thread so much. I adore how these stitchings are coming together, they feature some new Cinderberry creatures and a few peeps you have already come to know, enjoy & stitch.

The actual drawing series for these designs were sketched months ago, before I went to Houston last year. I have just been waiting for the right moment to tell you about them and get myself stitching and swooning over them.  It wasn't too hard for me to love these fellows, the red guys with their pointy ears and long whiskers.

I will keep a lid on the name of the design and what I am putting together until I am 100% certain of the direction of these foxy guys.  I have a few ideas in mind but need to play with them until I get that right mix. This is how I design and I often change my mind and direction mid project.  You have to let the design tell you what it wants to be...I know (cuckoo) but true.

But that doesn't stop me from showing you, afterall I want you to enjoy them like me.

Either way they are my new stitching love.

I will keep you posted what's in store for the Red Fox, it's fun, fresh and different.  Why yes, I do love my foxy fellows.

Winners & my book crush

Wow - I have received so many emails and messages in the last week!

You have all completely knocked my socks off, to say you are excited about the iron on transfers & changes would be an understatement.....I thought my inbox was going to pop this week. So with my quick calculations I have come to the conclusion.

(No tracing lines and going cross eyed at the light box = more time sewing for everyone)

These last few months have been tedious for me, transferring, re-formatting designs and spending way too many hours in front of the computer getting things 'just right' zapping my energy & creative time.

Was it worth it?  ABSOLUTELY Yes.

Will you love them? ABSOLUTELY Yes.

So now the tedious part (insert yawn) is over it feels amazing to be back drawing and sewing again.  I missed it, the imagination, stories in my mind, creating, scribbles on blank paper, bits of fabric thrown around the studio, pins in my fingers, taking photos....every part of the process.

Because creating makes me happy, it is who I am.

I even brought a new sketch book to celebrate

Inside the cover it tells me to use the book as 'a year long record of sketches, because every daily drawing is worthy of remembrance' and that is true but, between the two of us.....I'm loving that the edges of the book are orange against the fresh white crisp pages.

Don't laugh.

I'm serious book crushing here.

New pattern covers & grande giveaway

I was busy playing in the studio this afternoon when I looked up and saw this little owl watching my every move, it's nice to know he is keeping a look out, is quiet and does not require feeding.  The perfect pet.

I mentioned in the last post about the much anticipated changes to Cinderberry Stitches, both patterns and distribution, so now it's about time I revealed my new look pattern covers so you know what to look for in your local patchwork store.

I love the new look and hope you do too, it's stamped with my signature drawings and the colours I love....what's not to like about that?
