Who loves going to craft fairs and quilt shows?
I thought it was about time I shared my day with you, I have had loads of fun this week and the Melbourne craft show was just the cherry on top! When the alarm went off yesterday I flew out of bed excited to get to the show and surround myself with inspiration.
Ahh...the fabric, samples, books, patterns, buttons, threads and gadgets, a crafters heaven.
Tip to one's self...wear comfortable shoes
With Mum in tow we arrived at the Melbourne Exhibition Centre (or for those from Victoria it's more commonly known as Jeff's shed). With the "people frenzy" often experienced at these events Mum pointed toward the ticket stand.....oops, that was the Careers Expo ticket stand - lucky for us we read the sign twice and kept walking to the right pavillion.
By this time I could feel a headache coming on, although I did try to convince Mum that it would go away once I brought some fabric.....good excuse I thought!
Tip to one's self...arm yourself with plenty of panadol
As soon as we got inside I forgot about the headache and we spent about 4 hours wandering through inspiration city, does anyone else wish they could have the whole show to themselves for just a few hours?
Tip to one's self...don't spend all your money in the first 5 minutes
By the time we finished at the show and spent the later half of the afternoon doing some more retail therapy we arrived home, the purse a little empty, arms a little longer, legs stiff and feet burning, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
Tips to one's self...find a rescue remedy for sore muscles - any suggestions?
